The Comeback of 1920s Fashion
by Laura Heitmeier

Looking at current fashion magazines, one may feel to be out of
place, or rather - time. And that’s right! We were catapulted
right back into the 1920s, decade of dandies, flappers and
decadent luxury.

The Roaring Twenties lasted from the First World War until the great
stock crash of 1929 and with them, they brought not only new fashion
and everlasting parties in the Gatsby-style, but they changed society
profoundly, abolishing old morals and gender roles to bring sexual
freedom.

Suddenly, to wear your grandmother’s or even great-grandmother’s
clothes is no longer démodé, but called vintage and the latest trend.
But be careful! Not any old garment is wearable and whether it may be
an original or a new designer piece, the style has to be carefully
adapted to fit into our times.
